(Shen talk): The talk should be of interest to anyone interested in explicitly computing the G-theory of simplicial toric varieties. Toric varieties are a special class of algebraic varieties provided with actions of split tori and contain as an open subscheme a copy of the torus itself. Such varieties are essentially put together combinatorially using the data of cones and fans. G-theory is the algebraic K-theory of coherent sheaves on such varieties- a theory that one can regard as a form of homology theory with proper support. As such the talk should be of interest to algebraic geometers, K-theorists and combinatorists and should be accessible to grads as well. The monoid algebras are generalizations of affine toric varieties. We shall start with a historical account of K-theory of monoid algebras. Starting with the works of M.P. Murthy, and D.F. Anderson. Then we shall discuss the contribution of J. Gubeladze. Finally, we will talk about our contribution in algebraic K-theory of monoid algebras. If the time permits, we will state some of our recent results with A. Krishna. Zoom details: Meeting ID: 954 5481 8980 Passcode: 677471 |
